Beautiful Buttonieres

.

There used to be a trend for very simple rose buttonholes, which was understated and streamlined. But buttonholes haven't escaped the current trend for a more natural look in wedding flowers. Buttoniere are getting fuller with more foliage and one or two main flowers with sprigs of berries or unusual elements such as seashells.
.

.
Add ribbon for more interest and coordinate the look by tying matching ribbons onto the bridesmaids bouquets. I really love this nautical theme.
.

.
For something even more unique try a themed buttonhole like this one from Fritts Rosenow.

Deliciously Decadent!

.

Taya from Deliciously Decadent Cakes has just sent through some of the most gorgeous pictures of cakes. See below for my favourites. I'm definately loving the neutral colours - wait for the next post to see an inspiration board around this lovely colour palette infused with a shot of a turquoise blue. The beauty of having a neutral base for your colour scheme is that you can add any colour really and it sets it off perfectly. How to make red look good...

Red is such a hard colour to work with for weddings. It's so strong which means it can be overpowering and too sombre for a wedding. Here are a few images and tips just to get you thinking on the right track for using red if you've chosen it as your wedding colour.
.
.
.
Keep it warm and inviting by adding autumnal tones to subdue the red.
.
.\
.
For a more exciting colour palette introduce a rich deep purple and put these colours together with a background of fresh white to keep it from being to dark and heavy.
.
.

.
Try a pinker shade of red rather than an orange or deep hue to keep the mood light and fun.
.
.
.
Be really creative and daring and pair with a rich blue for a strong but exciting colour scheme.

Kissing Balls

Beautiful balls of flowers hanging from a sweet little flower girls hand or from a canopy of tree branches above the ceremony give a wedding that extra touch of romance. The versatility of this little element is wonderful as well, any size and any flowers, but carnations are the most affordable and look fantastic when all bunched together. See below for some great ideas.

They don't need to be round either, a square kissing ball is great for a more vibrant and bright wedding theme.
.

After using them to line the aisle at the ceremony you could also double your use of the balls by transporting them to the reception and placing them in tall vases creating an unusual centrepiece and saving lots you of money!
